An agreement was signed with the National Centre for Polar and Oceanographic Research of India

On January 6, 2026 during a visit to India by A.G. Matul, Head of the Laboratory of Paleoecology and Biostratigraphy at the Shirshov Institute of Oceanology of Russian Academy of Sciences, and Thamban Meloth, Director of the National Centre for Polar and Oceanographic Research of the Ministry of Geosciences, Government of India, on behalf of the Indian side, the Memorandum of Intent previously signed by Vladimir Shevchenko, Acting Director of the Shirshov Institute of Oceanology, marks the beginning of a collaboration between scientists from the two scientific organizations to jointly study the World Ocean.
