Dmitry Glukhovets attended the unveiling of the "Möbius Strip" monument

The National Research Nuclear University MEPhI held the grand unveiling of the "Möbius Strip" monument on the famous Nobel Laureate Alley. Dmitry Glukhovets, Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists at the P.P. Shirshov Institute of Oceanology of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Head of the Ocean Optics Laboratory, and member of the Coordinating Council for Youth Affairs in Science and Education under the President of the Russian Federation, participated in the opening ceremony at the invitation of University Rector Vladimir Shevchenko.

Before the event, Yegor Zadeba, an associate professor at MEPhI and a member of the previous Coordination Council, gave guests a tour. The delegation toured the MEPhIST small spherical tokamak, the ELF experimental laser-physics facility, and the FabLab design and prototyping training center.

Speaking at the monument's unveiling ceremony, Vladimir Beklyamishev, Chairman of the Coordinating Council, emphasized the historical connection between the Coordinating Council and MEPhI. He noted: "The previous CorSovet was chaired for nearly ten years by a 'mythist,' Nikita Vladimirovich Marchenkov. Thanks to him and his colleagues, a very close and fruitful relationship has been established between the nuclear university and the CorSovet. We would like to develop and maintain this relationship... An equally close relationship has traditionally existed between nuclear physicists and progressive cultural figures."

Dmitry Glukhovets also noted the importance of this event, emphasizing that the "Möbius Strip" monument not only symbolizes scientific achievements but also continues the tradition of dialogue between science and art that was established more than 60 years ago.

Thus, the unveiling of the monument became an important step in strengthening the ties between science and culture, as well as a symbol of unity and cooperation in the scientific community.
