Scientific Council of Shirshov Institute of Oceanology of RAS

The Scientific Council of the Institute is a collegial governing body. The Scientific Council is elected by secret ballot at the Conference of the Institute's scientific staff from among the staff of the Institute with a degree, and leading scientists who do not work at the Institute can also be elected. The Scientific Council ex officio includes the Director of the Institute and the Scientific Secretary of the Institute. The Chairman of the Scientific Council is the Director of the Institute, and the Scientific Secretary of the Scientific Council is the Scientific Secretary of the Institute. Members of the RAS working at the Institute are members of the Academic Council without elections.

Decisions of the Scientific Council of the Institute are made by open vote, if the Scientific Council does not decide on a secret ballot. All personal issues at meetings of the Scientific Council are decided by secret ballot. Under the Scientific Council of the Institute, sections can be created in scientific areas and branches. Deputy Directors for Scientific Directions and Branches supervise their work.
