The exhibition is dedicated to Russia's chairmanship of the Arctic Council, which was transferred to our country from Iceland in May 2021. The exhibition includes about 40 photographs of famous polar travelers, members of the Russian Geographical Society Leonid Kruglov, Sergei Gorshkov and Mikhail Flint.
The Arctic Council is the most influential international organization promoting cooperation in the Arctic. It includes Russia, Denmark, Iceland, Canada, Norway, USA, Finland and Sweden. One of the priorities of the Arctic Council is the conservation and restoration of the unique biological diversity of the Arctic.
The photographs presented at the exhibition acquaint viewers with amazing landscapes and rare animals of the hard-to-reach territories of the Russian Arctic: the archipelagos of Franz Josef Land and Novaya Zemlya, the Wrangel, Ushakov, New Siberian Islands. The authors - director Leonid Kruglov, photographer Sergey Gorshkov and oceanologist Mikhail Flint - brought these shots from their many Arctic expeditions. Photos are supplemented with author's texts.

About authors
Mikhail Vladimirovich Flint is a biooceanologist, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Scientific Supervisor of the Ecology of Seas and Oceans, Head of the Laboratory of Plankton Ecology at the Shirshov Institute of Oceanology of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Participant and organizer of more than 45 sea and land expeditions. In recent years, he has been leading large Russian expeditions to the Arctic. Author of 13 personal photo exhibitions. An adherent of shooting on film with old classic cameras. He believes that photographs taken on film better convey the "flesh" of the nature around us.
Sergey Vladimirovich Gorshkov is one of the most titled Russian photographers. Known for photographs of the wildlife of Kamchatka, Africa and the Far North. Winner of numerous awards, including Wildlife Photographer of the Year. Many of his photographs have no analogues in the world. The author of National Geographic, GEO, BBC Wildlife and others. S. Gorshkov is the author of six personal photo albums: "Bear", "Kamchatka. The Elusive World”, “Trace of the Cat”, “Kamchatka Odyssey”, “Russian Arctic. Wrangel Island" and "Putorana Plateau", which were reprinted several times.
Leonid Leonidovich Kruglov is a famous Russian documentary filmmaker, traveler, photographer, member of the Russian Geographical Society. He worked for a number of magazines, including "Around the World". Member of numerous expeditions to remote parts of the world; He has more than a dozen documentaries to his credit. His film "The Great Northern Route" won the prize in the nomination "Best Documentary" at the II International Festival of the Arctic countries Arctic Open 2018.
