On June 14, 2024, the Shirshov Institute of Oceanology of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the authors of the “Voice of the North” project, Yana Shklyarskaya and Dmitry Olshansky, signed an Agreement on cooperation in the educational field.
On the territory of the Institute of Oceanology, scientific and educational events will be regularly held under the general title “Voice of the North” in order to popularize the achievements of domestic science in the Arctic, its history, the history of the development of the Arctic and scientific environmental activities in general.
The “Voice of the North” project (since 2018) is an informal club of people of different professions and destinies, united by their love for the North. At the club we meet like-minded people who actively influence vital processes near and beyond the Arctic Circle. We consider our goal to be the study and support of Russian northern identity. We invite you to learn first-hand about science in the Arctic and the work of nature reserves; on the preservation of monuments of wooden architecture and the life of indigenous peoples; about art and cinema.
