In March 2012, the Laboratory of Oil and Gas Potential and the Video Studio of the IO RAS conducted an expedition to Lake Baikal (head of the expedition, Candidate of Geological Sciences A.V. Egorov). The staff of the Limnological Institute of the SB RAS also took part in the work of the expedition.

The staff of the Atlantic Branch of the Institute of Oceanology, despite the severe winter frosts unusual for the Baltic, undertook a unique expedition to the Curonian Lagoon.

Using a hovercraft as a carrier vessel, they conducted research directly from the ice of the bay. At the end of February 2011, employees of the IO RAS Video Studio took part in one of the trips to the Curonian Lagoon. The scientists' work was captured in a series of interesting photographs.
