The International Symposium "Mesoscale and Sub-mesoscale Processes in the Hydrosphere and Atmosphere" (MSP-2018) is held at the Institute of Oceanology. The Director of the Institute of Oceanology, DSc (Geographical Sciences) Sokov A.V. addressed the participants of the Symposium with a welcoming speech. Academician R.I. Nigmatulin and Academician G.S. Golitsyn made greetings.

During the first two days of work, the most interesting reports of students and followers of Professor Konstantin Nikolaevich Fedorov were performed. DSc (Physical and Mathematical Sciences) A. Zatsepin, Head of the Department of IO RAS, student of K.N. Fedorov told about the creative life of the Corresponding Member of the USSR Academy of Sciences, Professor K.N. Fedorov, his research and scientific achievements. 39 oral presentations were made, as well as 22 poster presentations.
