From May 25 to June 2, 2022, employees of the IO RAS (researcher Khlebopashev P.V. (head of the expedition), junior researcher Borisenko G.V., chief specialist Zubarevich V.L., Laboratory of Biohydrochemistry, and Senior Researcher Sapozhnikov F.V., Laboratory of Ecology of Coastal and Bottom Communities) conducted research in the waters of the northern part of the Caspian Sea and the Volga River delta. The expedition camped at the Damchik site of the Astrakhan State Biosphere Reserve.

Seminar Leader – Corresponding Member of RAS Vladimir Zhmur. At the seminar, it is planned to listen to scientific reports on oceanological and atmospheric topics, including working reports. Not only employees of the Shirshov Institute of Oceanology RAS, but also any specialists in these topics from other organizations are invited to participate. Expedition "Abkhazia-2022", dedicated to the study of small river plumes, was held from April 25 to May 1 under the leadership of DSc Alexander Osadchiev. This year, the expedition took place in the estuary zone of the Bzyb River, one of the two largest rivers in Abkhazia, during the spring flood.

From April 11 to 15, the XXIV International Scientific Conference (School) on Marine Geology in memory of Academician A.P. Lisitsyn is being held at the Institute. The geography of the School is as always extensive: from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and Vladivostok to Kaliningrad, from Murmansk to Rostov-on-Don and Gelendzhik.

Access to Web of Science has been interrupted by the decision of the copyright holder. From May 1, 2022, access to the Web of Science database for organizations participating in the 2021 centralized subscription has been interrupted by decision of the copyright holder. Clarivate Analytics has shown no interest in renewing the license agreement for 2022 to date.

 

The Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation announces the opening of a competition for the International Prize within the framework of the UNESCO L'OREAL program "For Women in Science" - 2023. Based on the results of the competition, five winners will be selected, each of which will receive a prize in the amount of 100 thousand euros.
